2020 ECLL sign-ups begin with Black Friday special

Online registration for the 2020 Eagle Creek Little League baseball/softball/T-ball season begins Friday, Nov. 29, with a special discount.

Registration fees for 2020 will be $130 for baseball or softball, $100 for T-ball. But on Nov. 29 only, you can sign up for baseball or softball for $99, or T-ball for $75.

Another reason to sign up on Nov. 29: For online registration, a credit card (VISA or MasterCard) is required. A 2.8% credit card processing fee is added for credit card payments. But for payments after Dec. 4, the credit card fee (determined by Sports Connect, which handles ECLL's online registration) increases to 3.4%.

Sign up by clicking on the blue REGISTER tab on the home page. If you have signed up online before, use your username and password to begin. If you're signing up online for the first time, you will need to create a username and password.

As in the past, there are discounts for signing up multiple siblings: $10 off for the second child and $20 off for the third child. The fourth sibling and beyond play for free.

New this year: You can pay in four installments instead of all at once. The first payment is when you sign up. Afterward, payments on March 1, April 1 and May 1 will be charged to your credit card.

Not sure if you're eligible? Chartered Little Leagues are only allowed to register players within their prescribed boundaries. Click here to see a map showing Eagle Creek Little League's boundaries. Or you can use Little League's league finder here; type in your address, and it will tell you what league's boundaries you live in. If you:
-- live within the boundaries; or
-- if your child attends a school that is physically located inside the boundaries (Elementary: Central, New Augusta, Eagle Creek, Deer Run, Guion Creek, Snacks Crossing, Fishback, Nathaniel Jones Early Learning Center; Middle: Guion Creek, New Augusta, Lincoln; Pike High School);
then your child is eligible to play at ECLL.

What is your child's league age? Little League age divisions are based on your child's age on a particular date. To determine that age, click here and follow the instructions.

Opportunities to sign up in person in early 2020 (using a check, cash or credit card) will be announced at a later date.

What happens then? If your child is 8 years or older, we'll need them to come for evaluations (at the Pike High School east gymnasium; date and time to be announced). Otherwise, a coach or league official will contact you in March to tell you what team your child will be on.

What is the evaluation? It involves allowing the child to throw, catch, hit and run to help us determine which division will be the best fit for him. (For them, it's a chance to enjoy these activities indoors in winter!) It also helps us ensure that all the teams in a division are about equal in ability. It should take about 45 minutes at most. Boys and girls 8 years old and up will want to bring a glove and wear tennis shoes for the evaluation.

The season is scheduled to begin April 18-19, 2020, and, depending on the division, will end in early June. Information on each of ECLL's divisions can be found here.

ECLL plans to offer a fall-ball program again in 2020, with details and fees to be released at a later date.
